Andrea Oke is a muliti-disciplinary artist whose work is linked to storytelling and the preservation of memories.
Andrea graduated from the University of the West of England with a first class honours degree in Drawing and Applied Arts (2014) and has received several awards including the Helsinki Drawing Laboratory, Aalto University, Helsinki (2013), Somerset Art Works Emerging Artist Bursary (2014), Artist in Residence at Axbridge Museum as part of Muse:Makers in Museums project (2017) and Artist in Residence at Halsway Manor, the National Folk Centre, in Somerset.(2018)
Andrea's latest film commission 'The Last Potters' responds to the memories of the Donate Potters whose hands worked the local clay until the pottery closed in the 1940's. The film is commissioned by the South West Heritage Trust and is on show at The Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury until November 2019 to accompany their current exhibition, 'The Art of the Potter'.
